# Kantajiu Temple or Kantaji Temple or Kantanagar Temple is located 25 km north of Dinajpur city of Bangladesh and seven kilometers southeast of Kahrol Upazila Sadar, on the banks of an ancient river west of Dinajpur-Tentulia highway.

* The inscription of the foundation stone on the north side of the temple suggests that Prannath Roy, the then Maharaja Zamindar of Dinajpur, started construction of the temple at his late age.

* After his death in 1222, according to his last wish, his grandson Maharaja Ramnath Roy completed the construction of the temple in 122 AD. In the beginning, the height of the temple was 5 feet.

# When the temple was hit by an earthquake in 6 AD, its wreckage collapsed. Maharaja Girijanath made extensive renovation of the temple, but the shrines of the temple were not renovated.
