Visiting the Celtic Prince of Hochdorf
• 1d ago
A visit to the Celtic chieftain of Hochdorf, whose undisturbed grave—discovered near Eberdingen in 1978—ranks among Baden-Württemberg’s most significant archaeological finds. The faithfully reconstructed burial mound offers insight into the burial customs of the Celtic elite from over 2,500 years ago. The grave goods accompanying the chieftain—including a gold-decorated bronze cauldron with a 500-liter capacity and a bronze reclining couch—attest to the immense wealth and power of the deceased.
