Ethan Hunt is tasked with retrieving a stolen list of deep cover agents from Alexander Galitsyn in Prague. The mission involves infiltrating an embassy reception, shadowing Galitsyn, and apprehending him and his buyer. Complications arise when an ambush occurs, leading to the loss of Hunt's team and a betrayal from within the IMF. Hunt must then uncover the mole responsible for the disastrous operation.
